Stability problems on takeoff

Hi folks,

Just got my first r/c heli. It's an Ares"Ultra-Micro MD 500D CX 100" and is well spoken of by numerous people whose opinions I trust.

My initial attempts to take off have been mixed. It would usually go straight up, but now, a few days later, it's gone weird on me (maybe too hard a landing rattled it too much? I'm baffled.)Now, after I give it a bit of throttle it leans back on its tail skid and as I throttle more it either takes off, still tilting backand reverses. A crash results.Or, almost all the time now,it tips and falls on its right side before I reach take-off speed. One of thosetwo things always happens. Basically, it appears to want to "lean" to the rear and to the right. What is going on? I have noticed there are somesmall chips on the leading edges of the bottom rotors, from a small crash I guess.Could that be it? I'm stretching here. I'd really appreciate any advice.

Thanks alotin advance,

C

Simple solution to your problem. Throw it in the trash bin and stop playing with a toy. Get yourself a 600 size model helicopter either nitro or electric and a mentor.

Ares makes nice products that are definitely above toy grade. It sounds like you may be in need of learing to trim the helicopter. Have a look at this video and follow the steps. See if that helps

Also make sure the battery has a full charge.

Check the linkage on the entire head assy. My first thought is the ball link on the flybar popped off, but check all of them.

Just a quick observation....

Charybdis made an account on the 22nd and asked a simple question. He logged back in on the 23rd, saw the answer "Throw it in the trash bin and stop playing with a toy", and hasn't logged again since.

Probable not the best thing to see when you log back in and are asking for help.

Bad enough on an "active" forum where one smart### comment is mixed with a bunch of helpful ones.

It's easy to imagine he came back and saw the first reply and thought "now I know why this forum is so dead". I doubt he ever saw the suggestion from majortomski.

Try a forum where there is interest in helping newbies rather than putting them down. Especially with helis. rc-help.com

So your solution is for him to learn to fly on a 600 dollar or much much more expensive machine, when he doesn't even know how to check the $90 coaxial heli for out of whack parts, after saying he has been flying for a few days. That has got to be one of the smartest answers I've ever read.
