Blade 230S autorotation

Hi! I'm new to helicopters, I practiced with blane nano s3 and accurc simulator for about 50 hours, but I'm still a beginner (I can flip tail in and that's it). I would like to know why when I hit throttle hold on my 230s the heli starts spinning out of control really fast... I would like to do little autos from about 1-2 meters, so that I will not damage my heli. Should I change something on my DX6e transmitter to avoid this?

Unfortunately, a 230S will not autorotate, because the tail rotor is driven by a motor instead of a belt (which is driven off of the main rotor). When power stops, the tail rotor stops too, and there is nothing you can do to stop the resulting tail spin.

If you could rig up some way to power the tail rotor separately, and let it keep spinning while power was cut to the main rotor, then you could autorotate a 230S. I wouldn't be surprised if a resourceful person already figured out how to do that. It couldn't be done with the transmitter alone, though.
