Getting started
 

So.... I've had my Raptor 30 built for a year or two now. I have a Futaba 6XAS radio and I can't remember the gyro, but it's compatible. I don't have digital servos, but figure'd I'd upgrade later. I have the TT 36 engine and have actually started it once or twice. I think I cut up a allen wrench and attached it to a cordless drill.

So, what else do I need to get it set up properly? I think a pitch gauge is in order, and probably something to balance the blades with.

Can anyone reccomend a pitch gauge and balancer? Also, where can I order fuel at a reasonable price?

The Helimax gauge is pretty good, a paddle gauge might not hurt, and if you have carbon blades, you can probably wait on the balancer. Magnum fuel is usuallly 5.00 a gallon cheaper than cool power and is real good fuel. If your homeade allen starter does not have a ball tip on it already, it might be a good idea to grind it that way so you can be at a slight angle with no extra pressure to the starter socket.

Thanks for the tips. I have the stock blades. Where can I get Magnum fuel, and what fuel is best for the TT.36? Can I use this 16% that I've had sitting in my closet for break in and hovering?

Be sure to get some experienced help. Even if you have to drive a few hours, it is time well spent.

There are a few people locally. I'm planning on getting it ready to the point where only the finishing touches need to be added before I contact someone. I'm going to try to have it set up a close as possible to where it needs to be. I'm also planning on working on getting the engine running as well. I hate tuning those suckers.
