Heading hold or normal mode
 

I am continuing to learn this heli thing after 18 years in airplanes so here goes....
I have hovering pretty much under control and have been flying circles around myself trying to get into forward flight. Would it be to my advantage to switch my gyro into normal mode so the tail rotor follows the main body or should I leave the gyro in heading hold. I really am having trouble keeping the tail behind the heli(maybe the orientation is screwing me up). Any info from someone having a similar problem would be appreciated

I just got into heli's this year and everyone I talked to say's to leave the gyro in heading-hold mode and fly the tail.

I have followed this recomendation and I'm getting better at my forward flight.

I would say to use HH for learning forward flight. Before long you'll be into more advanced flying and using HH exclusively, so you might as well learn with it.
