WEBRA ENGINE

Hi, everyone. I have a JR Venture 30 CP and purchased a Webra 32 engine when I bouught the heli from the LHS. I was talking to one of the sales persons at the other LHS, and he did not have anything good to say about the Webra (he had 4 helis lined up on the counter and I have to suspect he knows what he is talking about).

Question: Has anyone had any expierence with this engine? Did I make a mistake in buying this engine? The JR manual recommends it.

Would appreciate any comments. Thanks.

RE: WEBRA ENGINE

In general... Webra engines have been some of the best on the market. I've never had a Webra heli engine, but the ones I've used for fixed wing have consistantly outperformed O.S., Enya, (two of the better brands) and other reputable sport engine maker's products.

Well, Sir, thanks for your information. I had heard some other flyers pretty much say the same thing. I think he was basically trashing the other hobby store. Thanks

Could just be that he doesn't carry Webras... and wanted to sell an engine. Its unfortunate that some hobby shops will get into such "competitions" where the bash a product just because they don't sell it. In my opnion (and experience) the better hobby shops won't do that. I've had an excellent hobby shop tell me to buy from the other guy to get a product he didn't carry that would better suit my needs. (you know which shop I kept going back to...)

Thanks, guys. As you can imagine, I am new to this end of rc, and it is a little intimidating. I just ran accross Runryder this morning and will check it out. I have been tuning engines for about 4 years, so I am not afraid to try it out.

I've bought resently my first heli (Ornith from Robbe) with a webra .40 engine. And I had some problems adjusting it. But I E-mailed Webra and they have send a manual (which wasn't incl. with my engine(?!)). The manual tells you how to set up the carb settings so that the engine will always start (this come's in handy if you are messing with the carb settings as I was). If you want the manual you can also mail me (it's a PDF and I don't know how to add it in this post).
Regards from Holland.

Hello, Holland. Thanks for the information. I have been able to tune about 6 different engines and will work on this one. Thanks for your help
