Twitching Heli !

Hey all !

I was wondering if anyone could help!!!!!!

I recently purchased an aerohawk and found there was a problem with the receiver, if the heli went more than 3 meters away from the transmitter(Futaba T4YF) it stopped responding. I had the receiver repalced with a Futuba one (R136F) Everything works fine apart from when the heli is about 5 meters away and I increase the trottle the tail starts to twitch from left to right, as soon as i move closer to the heli the twitching stops!

Please if anyone has any ideas......

thank you

How have you got the arial routed?

It musnt be attached to any carbon or metal or it will cause interference...

RE: Twitching Heli !

You might try soldering a relatively large (1000uF or so) cap onto the battery connectors of the ESC. This often helps reduce glitching due to noise generated by the ESC's large, switching, output currents. Guys that run electric RC cars do this to reduce glitching and give them more "punch" when they accelerate. Another option would be to solder a cap across the power supply wires coming from the ESC to the RX. This would filter the RX's power supply, and hopefully reduce the glitching as well. Also, your motor should have some caps or Shottky diodes on its terminals to keep inductive kick-back from the motor coils to a minimum. This also reduces sparking of the motor brushes, and makes them last longer...

RE: Twitching Heli !

Thank you both for your help !

I moved the arial and wrapped it round the skid, and the twitching stopped completly. I am really greatful for your help, and glad it was such a simple problem to fix. I have one more question that maybe you guys can help me with: I recently replaced my stock motor with a G310 tuning motor, when I throttle up to get off the ground there seems to be lots of power and the heli jumps up, but as the heli rises if i decrese the throttle the heli comes down fast and does not seem to have eneough power to pull up again. I am not sure what this means!!!!!!!!!!! I have performed a run-in of the motor, and all my electronics are working fine!

Thanks for you help
