Hi guys is there anyone out there that can explain how to set the pitch on a Hawk pro, really having some problems, no out here can help me, I have a futaba 9CAPS I have the pitch gauge but when I go to use it to make the adjustments using 0 for low stick and 5 for mid and 9 for hi, the leading edge of the blades start going downwards, is this correct, I really don't know, must be the french in me, can someone help me with the setup, thanks

If its going the wrong way you need to go into your menu on your radio and reverse that channel

thanks for the help, i've tried doing that and it seems to be going in the right direction, some told me to leave the mid stick at 0 and put low stick at --2, and top at 9, that's okay but the darn radio is a bit confusing, any suggestions

RE: newbie with problems

I have my Eco-8 setup with low being between -3 and 0 degrees depending on the flight mode, mid stick being around +5 or 6 degrees, and top being around +10 or 11 degrees.

With a pitch range of -2 to +9, I don't think it would be very wise to have mid stick set at 0 degrees, seems to me that it would make the collective less precise (and more touchy) at anything above mid stick.

Whoever told you to set the mid stick at 0 degrees probobly flies 3d.

I'll try and make it simple but you still have to engage your brain.

Set pitch curve to 0/25/50/75/100
set pitch atv to 100 both sides
disconnect pitch linkage at servo
move pitch arm through range and find middle
on radio set th/pitch stick to middle
adjust servo arm so it is at 90 deg angle to pitch linkage
adjust pitch linkage length to have pitch arm in middle and connect to servo
adjust all the linkages on the rotorhead to move levers/mixing arms etc to level/90 deg.
adjust linkage on rotorhead to set main rotorblades to zero deg.

now you should have the radio stick at 1/2. pitch arm at 1/2 range, mixing arms and levers level / at 90 deg to linkage. blades at zero deg.

run th/pitch stick all the way up. adjust pitch atv to get around +10 deg. run stick all the way down. adjust pitch atv for -10 deg.

now you have -10 on bottom, 0 at center and +10 up.

I presume you want to hover at mid stick so move the th/pitch stick to center. Adjust mid point (pt3) on the pitch curve to give +5 deg on the mainblades. Should be around 75%. Set point 4 to 88% (for a straight line). You want about -2 deg at low stick so move the stick down and adjust point 1 to give -2 deg on the blades. Around 40%. set point 2 to 45% for the straight line.

Throttle curve: you want 50% throttle at hover so point 3 would be 50%, point 4 75% and point 5 100%. Point 2 around 35% and point 1 all the way to 0%.

You set up the heli mechanically so controls are symetrically above and below the 0 deg pitch. As you progress in your flying all you have to do is change % in the radio to get more negative pitch, set up idle up etc.
