fpVcp for learnning
Heres my question.....my control has both fp and cp. if I following radd's program, do I want to do these drills in fp or cp?
I've noticed that when I tog over to cp the engine spins up to near max(at the very least the rpm's go way up) and so on. my question is which is the best way to do the radd's flight sch? cp...or....fp. |
RE: fpVcp for learnning
???
what helicopter? I think that switch you are flipping is "idle up" or "Idle 1." If the helicopter is a ccpm(collective pitch helicopter with a 120 degree 3 servo swashplate, then you don't really have a "fixed pitch mode, as the pitch should change as the headspeed increases. Doing radd's school is for normal mode, and not idle-up mode. Also, you should never switch the helicopter to "idle up" when the rotor is not spinning. the quick engagement will cause the tail to swing wildly, and possibly harm the main gear... not to mention that when the throttle stick is at 0% or all the way down, the idle up pitch would put the blade pitch at -10 degrees. That will push down on the helicopter, and could cause part failure resulting it a massive mess of spinning and shooting carbon fiber and composite, leading to the loss of an eye. Wear safety glasses. It's all fun and games until someone looses an eye. |

Hi Dannoh40,
Take a read through the [link=http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=439631]EHBG/Electric Helicopter Beginner's Guide[/link]. It has a lot of useful information. Dont' worry about not having the exact lingo. If your instruction manual does not spell it out for you, how else would you know? Read a lot here. Ask a lot of questions. Let us know how you do.
