Scope Tech Type X
Hi, I'm new to all of this r/c heli stuff, i have been flying planes for 3 years now and saw this for 50 dollars and just had to buy it, it seemed like a good deal. i was walking with it and somehow managed to drop it, and the "flybar" broke, where can i get new parts for this, and i need a bearing that goes between the main rotor and the rotor head. thanks any help would greatly appricated, i think rc helis are sooo cool and hopefully it wont cost me that much money, thanks.

You can look [link=http://www.hobbytron.com/RCTypeXRTFElectricHelicopter.html]HERE[/link]
I think its 19227 Balance Wing By the way were you walking on the top of a building and dropped it off the edge? How did it break the Flybar and break a bearing? |
RE: Scope Tech Type X
the bearing didnt break, and my luck is that it landed right on the flybar=( i lost the bearing, i had a mishap with the crystal, i forgot it was on and took the crystal out and away it went and it hit the celing and came down, the flybar was fine then and the bearing was no where to be found, i was seriously contemplating just making one out of metal, thanks for the help
*edit* how sure are you that it is the balance wing? |
RE: Scope Tech Type X
I thougtht it might come with the bar and the blades but after looking [link=http://www.redrockethobbies.com/XR_1_Balance_Wing_p/hbs19227.htm]HERE[/link] it looks like I was wrong

RE: Scope Tech Type X
darn, i only need that bar
|
RE: Scope Tech Type X
Maybe its
19231 Balance Wing Adj. Bar I hate it when they don't show photos |
RE: Scope Tech Type X
yeah i mean why would they make a site without proper pictures to aid purchase, do you think that thi was a good dead for 50 dollars?
|
RE: Scope Tech Type X
what the hell go for making one out of some steel what do you have to lose. It's going to cost $30 for the bearing and the bar. If you bring it into the LHS they might have a loose bearing collection and you can pick one up for $5 and some steel for a flybar for $2
|
RE: Scope Tech Type X
yeah, i have decieded to do that, ill bring the bearing up and see if they have a match, thanks
ill post pictures later today |
RE: Scope Tech Type X
i have replaced the flybar with one made of steel, now i get some pretty bad vibration...
|
RE: Scope Tech Type X
are the blades on the flybar perfectly level? and is the are perfectly centered?
|
RE: Scope Tech Type X
yes its level, and its even, but the allen scres that hold it in doesnt really clamp onto the steel, i may mark it and file it down, it vibrates so much one of the blade shot of when reving it up to full, im almost scared to be around it when its being powered up
|
RE: Scope Tech Type X
Is the main shaft bent at all?
|
RE: Scope Tech Type X
no, i re checked and filed it down some, and the vibration has reduced it still seems to be vibrating more then it should be
|
RE: Scope Tech Type X
i may just scratch this heli, parts arent very easy to find, ill ask for a Eflight blade for christmas and ill get some training gear
if all else fails ill use the servoz for my tigermoth |
RE: Scope Tech Type X
I wonder if the parts are compatible with Esky HB FP2 or Century Hummingbirds... Probably at least some of them can be adapted to this heli. I suspect the flybar is the same.
I saw this heli at NEAT 2006 for $50 too, but I hesitated and instead ordered it online later for much more :( from Polk's Hobbies. Though the box looks the same as on that picture in the previous post, the heli is very different inside, with an oval frame and one-piece oval plastic landing gear: http://216.86.38.243/mmPOLKS/Images/PLKARCEH808.jpg One problem with it is the landing gear to low, it is actually standing on the tail. So I made a little platform from a piece of porolon foam. The second problem is it is very tail heavy. I'll have to create some kind of a platform to extend the battery as far forward as the canopy allows and move the receiver from the back to the front as well. Those bearings indeed tend to get lost as soon as the head pops. Might be worth gluing them slightly to the pins. Sergey. |
RE: Scope Tech Type X
It looks like most of the parts are identical to the ones for Phoenix FP
