PIT and PLT Knobs

I have a Falcon 3D and I was wondering, Is there anything I have to do before setting the PIT and PLT knobs? Do I have to unplug the motor or anything when I set the PIT and PLT knobs of my Falcon 3D? Also, what are the best directions to set the knobs to?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

As far as I am concern you don't have to unplug the motor since the ESC and motor are directly connected unlees you installed plugs between them. For the setting you put The PIT to 10 o'clock position while the PLT to the 1 o'clock position. I hope this helps.

Before you plug in the battery MAKE SURE THE TRANSMITTER IS ON OR YOU'LL HAVE AN UNCONTROLLED HELI FLYING AROUND.
The motor will start up in the 3D mode so fast that you can also do damage to the rotor head
Turn the TX on then plug in the battery and make sure the throttle stick is down.

Thanks, but I already learned this rule (to turn on the TX first and then plug in the battery and to unplug the battery first then to turn off the TX) with my first helicopter (the Lama V3) when I just started flying, at age 13, 7 months ago. Now I have the Lama V3, the Walkera Dragonfly 4, and the Falcon 3D.
