Hover question
 

I can now get all four training balls about an inch off of the deck but when I do the heli goes around in about a three or four foot clockwise circle. Is this normal? Is it the result of ground effect? Is it me overcorrecting? Would moving the flybar weights in or putting more on help stop it. What about moving the servo arms in so there isn't so much throw. This is a honeybee FP.

if your just starting off, move the flybar weights as far out as you can get it, this will make it more stable. as far as the 3-4ft circle, it sounds like overcorrecting....ground effect will mess with the heli but you still should be able to hold it still.

I am sorry but I do not get were I should move the fly bar weights..i do know where the fly bar is but weights thats the question..

The weights slide in and out on the flybar and held in place by setscrew...loosen up and move all the way out on the flybar wire if its not there already.

some flybars have weights on them, that you can move inward toward the rotor shaft or outward toward the flybar paddles....its a lot more responsive as the weights are put inward. therefore if you are just learning how to hover and want a slow reacting heli, move the flybar weights as close to the flybar paddles as possible, ive also heard of people getting heaver flybar paddles (or adding weight) to make it easier to hover.

Hafa Adai..thermal7 and thanks to all for help.. I got a walkera 60 and by the looks of it..it does not look like I can even move the fly bar. I thought RTF ment ready to fly..LOL but lots of difficulties..

DONT move the flybar!

There are metallic weights on it that you can loosen and slide to the outside of the flybar.

I think your LHS should have them for just a couple bucks- real cheap.

If I understand your post correctly, you mean the model is pointing in a constant direction but travelling around in a circle as viewed from above??
If so I had the same problem with a small electric Lama. The answer that I got from a helpful user of this site was to check for a bent flybar. The motion I refer to is called a bowl, so I'm told. My flybar was bent and removing it and straighten it solved the problem.

When during a hover the Heli cycles in a circular motion, that means that your blades are not tracking, or the swashplate could be sticking, or it could be a bent shaft. What other symptoms are present? Is thier vibration, etc..?
