eCCPM or CCPM

Would someone please inform me of what the difference is between eCCPM and CCPM. I can see a physical difference between the Raptor 50 and the Raven 50, but which one is better. The Raptor has the big lever with a servo in it, while the Raven just has the servos very close to the swash-plate... Thanks for the help.

Bump...

the standard mechanical or nonelectronic ccpm dedicates one servo to your collective, one to your elevator and one to your aileron. eccpm mixes the outputs from all 3 servos for any collective, elevator or aileron commands so when you increase collective, for example, you have 3 servos doing the work instead of one.

WOW, that answers my question... So eCCPM is better than CCPM?

maybe better in the sense that with 3 servos working together you get a faster response under load conditions. it's probably most helpful with the big block engines that really load the servos.

I wanted to know the diff between the two because the Raptor 50 has CCPM while the Raven 50) has eCCPM. I going to get the Raven 50 soon I hope...

RE: eCCPM or CCPM

First of all CCPM in the industry standards is referring to what you are calling eCCPM. Don't look at one heli that says CCPM and one that says eCCPM and think they are not talking about the same thing. I have a heli that is CCPM it has the 120 degree swash. It is called CCPM not eCCPM but in this case they are the same. I can't use my old futaba 6 chan heli radio because it is not a computer radio and can't do CCPM. I have a new Futaba 9CH which has 4 types of CCPM functions and that is what I am using for this heli.

There is a big argument about mCCPM and eCCPM. Don't get caught up in that. Understand that most companies will call it CCPM while others call it eCCPM. If I were you I would try to understand CCPM fully. Here is a great link that will help you understand what it is and its pro's and con's.

Hope that helps you out.

RE: eCCPM or CCPM

Exactly. eCCPM and CCPM are the same thing as far as the heli kits go. If they say it's CCPM it means it requires a CCPM capable radio. If it doesn't say it's CCPM it uses dedicated servos for the 3 functions and can use a standard heli radio. It could in some cases be upgraded to CCPM. Many of the older heli kits were designed so they could even use an airplane radio by mechincally mixing the throttle and pitch functions

Mike
