SETUP QUESTION
Does everyone that flys 3d hover at 1/2 throttle or 3/4 throttle in normal mode? Im a self taught heli pilot and learned the hard and expensive way because no help in this area. when I built a raptor 50 heli by the manual the instructions had me setup throttle at 1/2 and using pitch curve to give me 5 degrees at 1/2 stick. I switch to idle up when transition from hover to forward flt. When I bought a blade 400 it hovered at 3/4 stick with pitch at 0 at 1/2 stick...basically same pitch curve as idle up. I was wondering how guys are flying their helis from norm to idle up and when they switch over.. in air or on ground...thanks

RE: SETUP QUESTION
You can do either. The advantage of half stick is the collective is less sensitive. With 3/4 stick hover in normal mode the collective stick is still pretty sensitive but the disadvantage is the heli drops when you hit idle up if you dont do it on a climb out. I hover 3/4 stick all helis (even scale) and all flight modes, that way my helis all feel about the same in any mode.
