Hitec Eclipse 7 cyclic adjustment

The instruction manual for the Hitec Eclipse 7 radio is missing some important information. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how to set up the basic 120 degree ECCPM. It was also reasonably easy to determine that collective range is adjusted using the pitch curve adjustments. What is not clear is how to adjust the range for the cyclic throws. My points of confusion are that the manual does not define the meaning of the ECCPM mixing and how it relates to the other servo adjustments like EPA. It's not clear if cyclic range is adjusted with one of the swash numbers, or if it is one of the other adjustments. The problem is that there is too much throw on the cyclic (both axes), things are binding.

How much ATV or Dual Rates have you set.

Just a thought

im by far not an expert but I just went thru this on my bird.
you need to turn off hh (if you have it)
revmixing and such and all your trims and sub trims need to be 0.
youll need to get the mechanicall linkages as close as possible to
not bind then use epa to fine adjust. you shouldnt have to adjust any further than 85-90 on your epa. if you do then your mech is outta whack.
it took me a good 4 hours playin before I finally got it acceptable.
you can trymoving the linkage closer or further away from the servo center point as well. this will effectivly change your travel.
you should mostlikely leave your swah in the nor setting. depending on your bird of course.
page 15 number 34 tells you how to set epa. its in the airplane section but its the same principal.
I hope this sheds some light

At the moment, dual rates and exponential are turned off. End point adjust on all channels is at 100%. The SWASH numbers (whatever that represents) are at 70%. The pitch curve is set to 25 50 and 65 which indicates that overall servo throw is too wide. Is there a recommended setup sequence for the adjustments of 120 degree ECCPM?

I resist the idea of moving the links closer to the servo because the arms are long on purpose to keep the throw as linear as possible. I guess that this means that it would be an expected problem that the servo throw would have to be limited as a result. My problem is that I don't understand how end point adjust affects swash mixing, and the manual doesn't tell me.

epa as far as I can tell doesnt affect it.
all your doing is making it so your radio doesnt tell the servo to keep going when it cant.
if you dont want to adjust mechanically then I really dont know what to tell you. from what Ive learned the adjustments thru the radio are mostly for fine tuning .
maybe someone who knows more can chime in????
