INDOOR RTF MINI ?

Can anyone reccomend a rtf mini heli? There are lots to choose from.I would like to keep it under $60 but I dont mind spending a little more if its worth the money.I would much rather spend a little more if its easier to fly , built stronger, better battery life etc. I would like to get my nephews started indoors ( winter in maine ) with the hopes that they can move on up as they get older & the weather improves. I thought this would be a good starting point. THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME. chris

OFF TOPIC- Iam also looking for a rc( truck ? ) that has tracks used all year and can go in the snow.<br type="_moz" />

Yes the 130 mah battery would be a good upgrade. I usually deal with Hobby Town here in Indy. Look for a hobby store close to you and check them out for parts.

I dont really have a hobby store close to me. I would like to get the battery &amp; spare parts when I purchase the heli. do most of the online hobby stores carry this battery? can you be specific on what spare parts to get. thanks for all the help.

Other than getting a couple extra batteries I don't know anything else you really need. I have had my Mcx for almost a year and I haven't had any parts break. Maybe you might want to get an extra set of main rotor blades , but like I said I've had mine for quite a while with no real problems. It's a tough heli !

i just bought a e-flite mcx s300(has a more realistic body) off ebay.
im waiting for it to come in the mail.
i got it from seller hopmeup, whom ive bought alot of RC stuff from before.
the RTR heli, plus 2 free batteries cost just $99 shipped. you really cant buy a better micro heli of quality for less.
most any heli at $60 is only going to be 3 channel. the mcx is 4channel.
just check out some youtube vids, and youll see the mcx is a capable heli.

can anyone  tell me the difference between the blade &amp; 300?the 300 is $ 20 cheaper. there must be some difference.  I found a nearby hobby shop. . they only have the 300. I dont need this by xmas , so I could order the blade. undecided. thanks.

RE: INDOOR RTF MINI ?

the s300 is modeled after a REAL heli. the regular mcx has a sportier look. under the bodies, all the working parts are the same. i think the s300 is cheaper maybe cause its less popular.
i like the regular mcx better, but wasnt willing to spend an extra $20 for it.

just make sure you are looking at the RTR version, not the BnF (bind and fly) version which requires you have your own radio.

RE: INDOOR RTF MINI ?

My s300 came today. it took only 15 minutes to get it flying(just install AA batts and charge the lipo batt)
it flies very well. you should use the limited throw(trainer mode) setting on the controller when 1st starting flying.
i got mine from ebay seller Hopmeup. it came with 2 Tenergy 130 mah batts(besides the stock battery) for free.
these batteries are fine, but are a tight fit in the battery tray.
other than that small problem, this heli was a great deal!
i got it, plus the 2 free batts for $99 shipped, and i can mail in the slip to e-flite and get a $10 rebate.
it also comes with spare blades, and tools to change them.

I ended up getting the 300 as well. I stumbled onto a nice hobby shop just 20 minutes down the road. The owner was real nice so naturally I bought from him.same price plus the rebate but no extra batteries. he did not have the 130 mah batteries. He made it sound like they were hard for him to get. he said they were always back ordered. I would really like to know how those end up working for you. let me know because I might order some . I wont be able to try the heli out for a few days. thanks merry xmas.

the 130mah batts perform fine. the same as the stock one. it may run longer, i didnt really notice. they are just harder to get into the battery tray, thats all.
if i had to buy extra batts myself, i would just buy a couple of extra stock 110mah batts.

RE: INDOOR RTF MINI ?

I was under the assumption( I read somewhere ) that the 130 would almost double the time. I asked the store owner and he said that in most cases it would not.
