Beginner learning technique
Helo all,
I am a new rc heli pilot. Ihave been flying my Exceed RC Eagle 50 CCPM heli for a while. I nailed low hovering down pretty well now (Iknow low hovering is harder than high hovering b/c you get rotor wash/ ground effect....whatever) but do not know where to start practicing next. I do not want to start flying the pattern yet, as I don't think this is safe...... in other words.... CRASH INEVITABILITY. I thought that maybe flying the box pattern hovering in different directinons would be the next step to learning to fly my heli, but if anyone has any tips, please do not hesitate to share. I would really just like to keep my heli in good shape and crash free. thanks. |
RE: Beginner learning technique
dood!
no matter how hard you try, you will crash!! eventually the 'dumb thumb' syndrome will take effect! if you go to[link=http://www.dream-models.com/eco/flying-index.html]RADD's School of Rotary Flight[/link] you will find some very helpful hints and a training program!! it has been helpful to countless people! of course, the best thing is to hook up with someone who already flies who can guide you through the pitfalls and to get you on your way to heli heaven!!;) enjoy and fly safe Matty )<+}}}]@> |
RE: Beginner learning technique
Can you hover in all the different orientations? Nose in, tail in, both sides of the heli? I'm a beginner and thats what I am trying to master before Itry "actual flying".</p> |
RE: Beginner learning technique
TO Matty_P80:
Ok, this is funny............. actually, I already have crashed, and am still working on fixing my shaky Eagle 50...... so there's proof of your "dumb syndrome". LOL. Thanks for the link too. I'll look at it. I already understand basic concepts of the heli and all, as I am a licensed 17 yr. old pilot myself, but the hard part for me is just learning to, basically, NOT CRASH AGAIN. The hard part for me is finding someone to hook up with to fly. I think they use that cord thingy that links to TX's and allows the master TX to overide the learner TX at any time. This would be good for me, but I live in a town with one RC park, and it is not always full of airplanes (plus there's an outrageousclub subscription annual fee, and I'm not that enthusiastic about this hobby). Thanks for the help! TO Real2You: Yes! I understand what you are saying. Ironically, the side orientation flight was actually what caused the crash in the former. I think you're right- I need to master the different orientations of hover before "actual flight" b/c essentially, that's what "actual flying" is (you need to know the different orientations of your heli as you fly towards and away from you. I never really thought of that. Thanks! You probably just saved me from having another episode of "dummy syndrome". LOL. Thanks for the input. By the way, do any of you know how to take out the shaft of an Exceed RC Eagle 50? I was talking to the Exceed RC Support guy, Andy, and he said that this is probably what is causing my heli to vibrate badly. Either that or its the blade tracking, which I am almost certain is spot on. Any suggestions would help. Thanks guys. |
