learnt to hover...next step?
Hello all,
Ihave learnt to hover with my Blade 400. I can now hover rather well within a 1m circle in low wind conditions. This is tail-in. What should my next step be? I don't want to rush things but I don't want to be hovering my whole life either. Perhaps I should turn up the headspeed and continue practicing my hovering with a more sensitive setup? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! |
RE: learnt to hover...next step?
I would go on to side in hovers or a figure eight with tail in movement, depending on which set of skills you would like to work. Once you can do the different hovers you can do a full figure eight and use all the orientations in it...

Hi, Locksmack.
You can also try this guide. http://www.littlerotors.com/flyinglessons/index.aspx Good luck! |

This is good! One thing that appears to be missing is to circle around the pilot while tail in. Go left all the way round then right. Sounds simple enough, but helps improve a number of skills. That's where I am right now and I'm moving on to sideways presentation. If it's windy, you'd be surprised how challenging it is to keep the tail in as you fly the heli around yourself. You'll be doing this later nose-in. Our Master pilot tried the nose-in orientation and couldn't do it! It's a basic (and maybe sorta boring) skill but I think and important one.
