Default new erazor 450 speed control putting out 12 volts melted receiver

I just took my brand new erazor 450 carbon edition out of the box and powerd it up with the stock battery and the reciever melted.I checked the receiver plug with the meter and between 2 terminals i get a reading of 7 volts and between the other 2 i get 12 volts. Is the BEC what caused my damage? i installed a new Hitec optima 7 in it but am waiting to hear about the speed control from you guys

You're getting 12v on the signal line? (the outside pins)

yeah i tested my copterx speed control again and i assume there is a signal line witch no voltage should go through since the reciever is off and two power lines witch on my copter x sc i have 4v going through but on the dynam i have 6 and 12 volts.i just have a battery hooked up to both speed controls no receiver yet 6volts is still travelling down the signal line and 12 down the power lines i think the bec is gone?? there is 4 volts coming out the signal line and 12 out the power lines on the dynam

ok then so i should obviously not be getting 12 volts out of the speed control receiver plug. Also i should not be getting another 6 volts when i put one of the test leads on the signal wire..for a combined 18 volts....lol..

correct, but for the copterX esc it is strange too. you should get between 4.5-5V for the red and brown(black) wires. And nothing for the white (yellow) and brown (black) wires.

get a hold of who ever you got the model from and demand a new RX & ESC

let us know how it comes out for you we may not want to deal with them if they don't do you right
