ECO - 8 sorry bout that, learning the hard way, in real time and in my back pocket, just got myself a Raptor 30 though. It's still in the tweaking stage, so I'm still learning on the ECO - 10

Concept .30 DX
Recent acquisition, but quite used, and needing a few replacements.
So far though, it's showing to be an excellent trainer for me.
My luck, I'll probably waste it, shortly after I put all the new parts on it.

Started with a Shuttle ZX (Green canopy ...got it to hover and then totalled it ( I think it was a tail strike on touchdown)....laid off choppers for a decade and now doin pirouettes in a Hawk III. Hawks seem to be more sensitive than rappys ( the word I was given was "Twichy"), but fly great. Can't beat the price...Hawk Sport $160!

Flew the tail off a Nexus 30 twice, then got my Venture about 4 months ago and loving it. It's one great flying bird. That Nexus was starting to scare me about what was going to come off next and all I was doing is hovering. I am into FF and nose in hover now with my Venture. I would recommend a Venture over a Nexsu to anybody. I have never flown any of the others so I can't really say, but they ALL look fun.

My first heli was a Raptor 30. I used the TT-36 with great results. I switched to the OS-32 and then went back to the 36 for the increase in power. It took me from training gear to hover, forward flight, loops, rolls and early inverted. My first crash was a try at autos at dusk. I could not see the head speed decrease and - ouch. I loved my Raptor. The only upgrade I needed was the heavy duty clutch. I tried V-Blades and broke them in the auto. I went back to wood. I finally wore it out and sold it for parts to some Raptor drivers who rebuilt it as an upgraded 50. I have moved on but would still recommend a Raptor to a newbie. It served me well. I ended up learning autos on a Freya 60. I then went back and learned on the Raptor.

V-Blades
It is a brand of high quality blades. I have since gone to cheaper blades and I usually fly fiberglass now. I am not that radical. Good luck. You can find them where blades are sold fairly easily.

Wow! Huge feedback so far-- thanks all who have offered their memories of their first heli (some of them painful memories... ) This post may be officially retired soon (not much activity recently) but not until and questions posted within are answered. Thanks,
