Default Vario UH-1D

What blades are scale?
With the Benzin Mech's what gears should I install for these blades?
What head speed for this combo?

Any other mechanics upgrades should I install for the Huey? I am planning on flying with a flybar.

Is the petrol motor supplied by vario the new Z230 that zenoah is putting out? It supposedly has 30% more power.

I am having a hard time finding documentation. I only found one book. I am interested in the USN training Huey scheme.

Thank you

The scale blades for the UH-1D are part # 419. You want the
90 tooth gear and 18 tooth pinion ratio when it is in that fuse. No other upgrades are needed for this heli except a taller mainshaft than the one which came with the stock benzin kit. You can try
www.airliners.net, and www.helispot.com for picks and links to other sites which may show what you are looking for.

Thanks for the info, helispot.com seems to be down.

What about head speed, I am being told that 1300 is about right.

The Variousa web calls for 418's and you stated 419's. The price list discribes them:
418 GRP scale blades for UH-1D 1100
419 GRP scale blades 1810 left

Are the 418's for a smaller huey?

Thanks again

The 418's are for the small huey. You stated you are interested in the Benzin version, which is larger. You would be in the 1250 -1350 rpm range with the benzin.

I'm turning 1250 with the 800mm Vario Scale blades on my Huey. I'm also using the Semi Flybarless (Scale) Head with Fantastic Results -- Very Stable and Easy to fly without the Pitch problem associated with Flybarless heads. Listen to Joe -- He knows what works - Heck .... He developed and tested most of it anyway!!

Good Luck and take your time to get thing right!
