I feel Good!
4 tanks of controlled hover and not one mishap this time.
This time no throttle servo reversed causing the head to spin-up upon starting and wrapping the starter cable around the head.
This time no starter shaft flying out of the rubber cup and cracking a washout arm.
This time the tr servo was switched in the correct direction.
I'm used to flying sailplanes and slow sport planes, so even with a standard hitec 525, the tr response seems FAST!.
Now the questions.
With a GY401, should I expect a 10-15 degree yaw drift in 1 to 2 minutes of hover (slight diagonal wind), or should it really be LOCKED ON? I'm getting no hunting, so if anything I think I could turn down the delay.
Should I epoxy the blade grips on the stock Kyosho wood blades?
They have 4 screws as opposed to the wood Maverics which have 3.
I'm running 1.25 turns out on the needle and still getting good smoke. I tried from 2.5 on down to keep it rich for break-in, but it would start bogging when I tried to spin-up. I've read threads where other people are flying on 3 turns out. Does this sound OK?

Thanks
I'll epoxy the blades.
The gyro lights are indicating correctly in HH mode and normal mode, and when I switch it off via the transmitter, I do have to control the tail.
What I was wondering about was the drift/time factor and the accuracy.
So, if I hovered in HH mode in a cross breeze, and started in a 12:00 position. 2 minutes later, WITHOUT touching the tr stick, is being in a 1:00 position not acceptable? I thought I got all the bugs out.

I don't think I could hover for two minutes working the throttle to maintain altitude and not nudge the tail rotor some. It doesn't take much to move the tail. It can still be out of trim slightly in HH and drift. One click of trim would let it move that much easily.
