Default F 401 and JR ds8417

I have a JR ds8417 and was about to buy a g550t. After reading about the problems and everyone recommending the Futaba 401 I'm leaning that way. Does anyone know if there are compatibility issues with the 8417???

for best results the gyro should be matched with the same brand servo (especially if you go with a digital)

dlink72,
This combo works OK. When compared to the GY401 & 9253 digital servo it gets beat down pretty good. The Futaba gyros are running a VERY high frame rate. IOW, they communicate to the servo much faster than most servos can handle.

So, unless you don't mind burning up that 8471 you MUST set the "DS" switch to OFF. Once you do this it will work fine. But, if I had my choice I would save that 8417 for something else and get a 9253 servo.

The problems I mentioned above was with longevity, either with or without it in the "DS" mode....

Hey Dave, welcome ........
Just ordered the 401 with the 9253 servo, I think this is the way to go.
