The problem I see with the car engine is that most are high reving engines.

I'd love to have a pull start on that 15 engine.

That's true. I wish we had some torque/hp curve information on these guys to compare to say a heli engine.

The problem is that you really have to "try it out" to see if it is a good fit for the heli and until enough guys have flown the little bird with a variety of engines, it's hit and miss.

Gear ratios can allow the engine to spin faster, but then that doesn't help on the clutch end of things.

The weight of the Quickie .15 is 3.5lbs with servos, reciever, and no battery.

They say its a torquer which might be more suitable to the heli application than some of the screamers mentioned here.

Any of these engines have the cone start option-engines in question-And what does Quick reccomend for the heli? I have a NIB engine for the Hirobo MH-10 I just found not sure if I would want to use a dated engine though..I would want one of the newer OS engines possibly..

Thank's for the info OPtech! You helped to get my hopes up on a good motor for the little 15. I was considering the Tower Hobbies brand 15 with pull start but the K&B looks better for the same money.

Nice choice Optech. I had forgot about those guys. you're right about the lower torque. I guess if we each try one type, one of us will hit the mark!

Cluverson: It would be worth a try since you have it on hand. I just bit the bullet and ordered the K&B with pull start.
They even traded the Auto carb for the Airplane version! Also I was told by the tech guy that the Auto and Aero is the same motor. (porting wise)
