Hi,
I have been flying large scale aerobatic aircrafts 35 percent scale and got busy with a new job and stopped flying about 5 years ago.
I have a JR 8103 FM air Radio. I remember when I bought it, they also offered a heli version. What is the difference and can you still use the air version for helis? I just bought a T-Rex450 SE V2 and plan to get into helis now that I have little time to go to the field.
Thanks in advanced

Bust out your radio book and see if it has radio programming. From what I can tell its got the heli software, if thats the case, then the only difference is a ratcheting throttle (you will want to convert it to smooth for heli flying but thats better for airplane flying too) and the switches are arranged slightly differently but it will work fine, since you dont fly helis you will never know the difference with the switches, if you get help from a heli pilot make sure you inform him its an airplane radio.

Some of the earlier JR8103's didn't have CCPM mixing in the software. If your's doesn't and you need CCPM mixing, you can send it to Horizon's techs and they can activate it.

Thanks Heli Rod.....
I was just on the phone with Horizon as I believe I have 1 of the early radios without the CCPM mixing...it is not in the menu setup even though I choose heli....

Look for swash in the functions setup (Where you choose model number). Choose heli as the model type. Great radio for heli. I keep one for a backup to my 9303.
