Raptor .30 canopy
I just purchased a Raptor .30 and would like to find a different style canopy for it. Is there one available that will fit without to much trouble? I'm just starting with the heli's after flying planes for 20 years and still have some 10% cool power fuel left, will this be sufficient for learning to hover? It has an O.S. 32 in it. Thanks

Raptor .30 canopy
Hello and welcome to RC Universe,
Several of the dealers on line have aftermarket fiberglas canopys for sale that will fit right on. You may want to just stick with the factory one for a while though as you are just starting. I prefer to put items like that on when a crash creates an upgrade opertunity...
The Cool Power 10% will do just fine for starting out with. I'd probably change to at least 15% on the next gallon if it were me but there is nothing wrong with 10% for a while yet. One thing to keep in mind if you haven't seen it elsewhere is that Cool Power Heli mix is that same as Cool Power airplane fuel with just the sticker added. Some hobby shops sell the Heli mix for a higher price but it is really the same fuel from Morgan.

if your a proficient heli pilot and dont crash much, then
one of the aftermarket fibreglass canopies is a good idea.
If not, consider sticking w/ the bleach bottle canopy.
It's ugly but damn near indestructable.

Thanks guys. I was planning to use the stock canopy until I get used to it but I don't like the looks of the stock canopy and was looking for a different look. Also, whats some good colors to use that show up good. I'm sure it needs to be something bright. Any suggestions. Thanks

Canopys for the Raptor
JWhite - Welcome to the wonderful world of helis!!
I personally hate the stock Raptor Canopy, but it does hold up well.
I used to fly a lot of Kyosho stuff and had a couple of Nexus canopys left over.
They go on with minimal changes.
For speed runs and drag racing, they really work as they are much cleaner up front.

I would recommend using the stock canopy for now, but most of all - remember to HAVE FUN!!!

Colors will depend on what YOU see best. I have almost all of my stuff is painted Yellow over Red. The dark colors at a distanse all look the same so you want a light contrasting color so you can tell the difference. Once I found what works good for me I try to keep everything the same so it is easiers from on bird to another.
Hope that helps
