RE: Heli max Kinetic 50
I own a Kinetic 50, and what can I say. In 6 flights it had 2 crashes. The first doubt to a bad servo (JR DS821) that controlled the pitch, and the second doubt to a failed screw, in the collective arm (be carefully with this screw!!). In this case the cyclic control failed causing a crash. Flight characteristics are: very stable and predictable behavior. Before the kinetic I used to fly small helis as the Walkera #59 and the Heli Max MX400 and the differences are noticeable. Bigger is more stable.
I powered the helicopter with an Enya 50 SS Heli, a not so powerful engine as the recommended O.S. 50 Hyper engine, but for hovering and real flight is more than enough. But if you want to perform 3D maneuvers, you'll need more power. For tail servo I've installed a Futaba S9254 and the gyro is a GY401 BY Futaba. Be carefully with the CCPM linkage, this is a mechanical CCPM and need more attention than other systems

Well, the heli is not worth much, but the radio is. It's a good beginner heli, that's about it. Not build to the higher standards of most helis today so you may be working on it more than flying it. I've owned two Helimax helis and ended up throwing them away.
Use it to learn, by the time you get good with it you can work on getting a better heli.

RE: Heli max Kinetic 50
Your Kinetic 50 is a great heli, specially for the price - the gear ratio and blade length is best for use with the 50 size engine. But if you set your throttle curve to properly match the loads presented by your collective and cyclic pitch settings it should do OK for initial hover and forward flight training.
I have never owned one, but have set up a number at different events. They are not a Raven 50, or Vibe 50, but for the price I must say I was surprised how well it flew. With the OS50 Hyper and their CN3038A muffler it ccan be set-up to do some very impressive 3D.

RE: Heli max Kinetic 50
Whats? JR warns against using 821's in 50 size nitro helis? I dont have hear nothing about it. I've replaced the failed DS821 with another DS821. Now I'm flying with 2 DS821 for the cyclic control and a S3151 for the collective control. I've installed a standard Tower Hobbies servo for the throttle control.
I have 4 Futaba S3152 thats come with my 7C Heli Radio. Do I need to replace all the mentioned servos with the Fut's 3152? In the last flight, I've noticed that when applied cyclic to the left, the heli goes up too. I supose that both servos, the cyclic and collective are working together, but I don't have any mixing program active. I'm flying with a JR XP7202. Is there any compatibility problem when I use a JR Radio with futaba GY401 gyro and Futaba S9254 tail servo?
I own a Futaba 7C 2.4 Ghz heli radio too, but the R617Fs receiver have only 7 connectors, and I need 8 connectors (one extra for the voltwatch). This is the cause why I still use my old 7202 in my glow heli.

Yep the 821's are total garbage and are not meant for anything bigger then a 30 heli. the kenitic 50 is a nice heli and does just fine. Also I noticed that one person is running a 37 in a 50 size heli why are you running such a underpowered engine in a 50 size for put a 50 size engine in that thing and it will come to life.

RE: Heli max Kinetic 50
dont really need a govoner but as was said before put the proper engine in it it is a 50 size heli and your running a 37 in it that is like having a peterbilt truck and putting a toyota 4 cylinder engine in it

RE: Heli max Kinetic 50
I will apgrade soon but yesterday it starting to loose power at about 3 feet from the ground, it was not anouf rmps to keep it hoverring at half stick, did manage to land soft but was almost at full stick, it has been flying a lot better before, engine was running a lot hotter and at letting it die the engine just pop and shut down 3 times like that.
Thanks

How old is the engine? If Idle is good, adjust LS till it loads up after a 5 seconds or so then lean back till it will idle well. That way you know your low speed is in the ball park. Then richen up the high speed needle as it sounds like you are too lean which will destroy an engine if kept running that way. Adjust till she is spitting and sputtering at half stick then tweak back for good power. Make sure you pitch curve isn't beyond 8 degrees at the top and 5 degrees at half stick and that .37 should have enough grunt to do basic flying and hovering. Also ensure you running 60-75% thottle at half stick to get that .37 in the power when the load is on. You could always pick up some 550MM blades and put them on till you get your .50 and she would be almost identicle to the Hawk Pro. That .37 wouldn't need to work as hard. Keep at it and don't right off that motor just yet

RE: Heli max Kinetic 50
thanks Chris is fine now, tied down to a board with a C clamp and played with the mix, got it to keep the power at 65% stick and to play the sound of a bee at full trottlle with out diyng and idlle fine(2 tanks running) thanks .Will keep the engine from runnig to lean till i learn to make some manuvers and then i will upgrade to a 50,
