Default Problems setting idle/mixture

Grr, this problem is driving me nuts. Ihave a OS hyper 50 and Icant get the engine to run right or start at all. The glow start batteries work, I verified this by checking a brand new plug and the plug in the engine and I even tried other fully charged batteries to put in the glow starter.

On the needle valve, Iwas playing around with this, and the further I turned it out it started up and the engine was reving like crazy, so I had to pitch the fuel line to stop the engine. Iturn the needle valve back and it doesn't start at all. Ikeep priming it and nothing. My friend and I were having no problems starting it out before. I started at zero trim on the throttle and worked my way up where Iknow it started before. But when it runs great and fires righ up, other times it just doesn't do nothing. I didnt touch the mixture control screw or the valve.

My exp with this is fairly limited, and looking for someone to point me in the right direction to get my engine setup correctly and fire up right away in a nice idle without stalling or over revving like crazy.

I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

OK so I found out why is going max throttle, I had the throttle linkages backward and zero throttle was actually full throttle.

So right now, the engine starts and stop. From what I have read, that means the mixture is either to lean or rich. I haven't touched that setting yet, and I would imagine the know that needs to be tinkered with is the mixture control screw correct?

From what I read the mixture screw needs to be set a bit richer. So it seems that my entire settings are to lean, is that correct? If so, how much do I actually need to turn the mixture screw, just in tiny increments and keep trying till it idles?

I understand where you live (Devon) is not far from Edmonton. Here is the Web site of the Edmonton Radio Control Helicopter Association. Why not check with them. I am sure there are a number of fellas there that can help you.

Is your heli one you have purchased new or one that you purchased used?

My heli is brand new. One of the members of that club also works at great hobbies who helped setup the heli. But I would like to figure this out on my own though.
