Ball links to servo arms
Hi Jet A1,
I use a tiny bit of CA (super glue) on the treads before I put the nut on and so far I have not had any problems with them. My preference would be the Red colored thread locker if I had some. I live about 50 miles from the nearest LHS, so I have to improvise some times. The safety aspect of these machines is at the formost of my mind. Thats whats so good about these forums. I can read about ideas that work and those that are more apt to fail. It makes for a much safer day at the heli field. :) :D :p I wish you well and many happy landings |
locktite
If a screw is being secured into metal (e.g. a metal block or a metal nut that is NOT a locknut) then use a threadlock.
If a screw is screwed directly into plastic then use a cyanoacrylate glue (Jet or any other) Why? Because threadlock eats plastic and will weaken it and will actually cause the screw to loosen quicker |
beginner question
syclic you are correct.
it is a overstatement though that threadlock "eats" plastic. it may happen and it may damage the plastic, but not always. i put threadlock in plastic years back (before i knew about CA glue) and it is still holding rock solid. but like i said you are right... cheers |
