G-2 Simulator

I have a new G-2 Realflight simulator. I have tried the trainer heli (Impala 30) & have found it to be very difficult to hover at all. It wants to either travel forward or reverse, does this heli need to be trimmed, or what is the problem? Does anyone have any basic settings that will make this more reasonabe to learn on?
Thanks Arnie

Hello

I had to trim the control box each time I switched helis.

Just hop it up into a hover and watch which way it goes and trim the sliders on the box accordingly only go one or two clicks at a time.

hope this helps :D

Could also be that they are just a little tough at first, keep trying. Just in case, it would be a good idea to run the calibration routine. I think you can find it in the options menu?

When I first used G2, I also thought something was wrong with the heli, no matter which one I tried. After hours & hours of practice, I was finally able to hover and keep it relatively still. Like Spaceman Spiff said you can also calibrate your controller. Sorry I don't remember where it is either, at work now. Also another thing that helps is make a copy of a heli, and then you can "modify" it. The one thing I've done from the start is make it bigger. I use 2.0, any bigger than that it seems to act & look a little funny. But I've read where people shoot it up to 3.0. Anyway, just keep practicing, and use the Trainer dude. He explains a few basic things that really help. He taught me how to hover ;) Now I'm going to use him for forward flight. Hope this helps.

Make sure you have your controller calibrated. Just going to the Controller screen will show you the current settings of all the joystick positions, make sure none are off. Other than that it took me a few days to get a hold of solid hovering and about two weeks to get the tricks of hovering at various angles besides tail in. Forward flight wasn't so difficult as long as you take it easy.

hi just been reading your threads and I also had this problem when I first started with G2 I found that the impala 30 's heading hold is only activated when idle up is thrown I made a copy and changed the setup so it is in heading hold all the time like my real heli is otherwise its dam hard to keep a hover because the heli always wants to spin itself into the wind. Just a thought. :D :D
