Main Blade Tracking

Hi Guys,

Just a simple question, when adjusting the blade tracking, is it better to raise the low blade or lower the high blade ?

Cheers,

Nick;)

Some folks will assign a master blade. It is the one they used when they set their pitch range, so when they adjust tracking they only change the other blade so it does not affect the pitch range. other than a small change to the pitch range it doesn't matter.

I like what Spaceman Spiff says. Another consideration I've found is: how much is left in the linkage threads?

You don't want to get to close to the end, instead of lengthening this one (which is getting a bit loose) you shorten the other a few threads.

The other thing to consider is, do you want to raise the head speed or lower it. If you lower the pitch of the high blade it will raise the head speed. If it's already on the high side you'll want to raise the pitch of the low blade instead.

Mike
