Gyro mounting/interference

Hi all,

do you guys know if there is any way a servo can distort a piezo gyro?
Theoretically, if I attach my tail servo directly to my gyro with doublesided tape will that give any problems?

Any RF/magnetic field experts here?

Thanks a lot in advance from the Netherlands!

I wouldn't tape my gyro to a servo. Do you have a little more information. What kind of heli is it, and what kind of gyro is it?

Piezo gyros are sensitive to vibration. Double sided tape is insufficient vibration isolation. Use some foam gyro mounting tape.

RE: Gyro mounting/interference

Actually, it's a Nexus 30 that I have rebuilt and fitted with some upgrade parts.
I'm going to use it for auto practice.
But I have an old Robbe 3D gyro (basic all in one block style, like 1.5/4 cm square sized) that I want to fit somewhere up front.
That crappy Nexus canopy however is pretty tight so I cannot stick the thing anywhere.
I am going to build a very simple carbon support tomorrow and will definitely use gyro foam.

I was just curious how an unshielded plastic gyro can be distorted by magnetic interference since the only place that will fit this support is close to my tail servo (9250).

Thanks for any help.
