Helicopter Recomendations

Hello, Which is the Best Helicopter (best bang for the buck) in my case I want something I can fly outside thus it should be able to withstand some wind. By reading other posts I see that the E-sky is an indoor helicopter which I really dont want. I want something as I said that I can fly outside, take some wind and withstand a hit or two . Also nothing to costly I dont want to do a barrel roll or something like that, just something simple nice and for a good price. Any recomendations??

What's you're definition of "good price"?

A good heli will run you $800-$1000 or more, including everything you need (kit, engine, electronics, field gear, simulator, etc.) If you're already into nitro planes, then you may have a TX and field gear you can use with a heli, which will save you some $$$.

Cost of entry for me, with my setup, was about $1800. I started with nothing (just had RC electric cars with AM RX/TXs up until now).

Also, what is your definition of good heli? If you are talking micro helis, forget it, your throwing your money away. If you want a good heli that you can learn to fly, fly in wind, and keep for a long time, go with a raptor 30. If you want a micro heli, your throwing away good money. Send it to me instead and I will describe the fun you had in the 15 seconds your micro flew before it destroyed itself.

RE: Helicopter Recomendations

The Raptor is probably the most expandable heli out there. There are tons of after-market parts. A typical kit-only price is $280.

One cheaper, less expandable, but just as flyable, is the Century Hawk Sport. I fly one and like it a lot. Typical kit-only price $160.

I had one bad crash where the cost of replacement parts was the same as a whole kit. So I bought a whole kit. As a crashing beginner, I really appreciate the cost-of-a-crash cieling being less than $200. And now have spare parts, from the replacement kit, that have already come in handy.

Marked23,

Where'd you buy your Century Hawk Sport... is there an online manual or exploded view of it? I'm curious to see what it looks like inside. Looks like HeliHobby carries it, but no online manuals there...

EDIT: Scratch that... I Googled it and found it... should have done that first! Anyway if Androdz is interested in checking it out too, here are links to the "fast build" manual with lots of photos, and the full manual that comes with the kit...

Only a couple of Raptors here, but a lot of Hawks. They are a very inexpensive 30 size heli that flies very well and they are very dependable.
