throttle notch?
I was just curious if anyone makes a small notch in the throttle stick so that you can feel when you are at zero degrees.
If you don't do this, how long does it generally take to get the hange of zero pitch when rolling, etc.? Thanks Dean |

A guy at a field I use to fly at , put a spring on the thro so it would spring to center. I for a time used it also ,worked very well you always knew where 0 pitch was. Now that I'm using a new radio (9zWC) I don't have the spring. I can't find 0 as easily but ,can still get the same result that I had with the spring it just takes practice. A notch would be helpful , I'd like to know how to put that in the 9Z radio.

throttle notch?
I have a notch at mid throttle/pitch stick. It really helps with stall turns and rolls. On the 9Z you open up the back, wade through the circuit boards until you find the ratchet metal spring part.
I unscrewed it, used a Xacto knive to make a light line in the plastic halfmoon disk the ratchet rides on. Then reinstall the ratchet and check if the line is in the correct spot. Then undo everything again and make a bigger notch. Make it bigger than you think because when you tense up in flight you can't feel a light notch. Fritz |

Thanks Fritz. I'm going to give it a try this week. All my friends who fly pattern have a notch at 3/4 stick so that they get consistent horizontal lines, and I figured that it would work well for helis too.
Anyone else use a notch at zero degrees? Dean |

throttle notch?
I've had mine apart a couple of times now. Once to change the springs, and once to sand down the throttle ratchet to make it smooth. It it definately not for someone who hasn't taken it apart before.
Before I took mine apart I had help from the local Futaba rep. who took his apart first. My 9Z WCII is currently an Airplane version, and I didn't want to loose any flying time sending it in to have it switched to heli, so I just sanded the ratchet down for now. I'll send it in this winter to have it changed to the heli switch configuration. Dean |
