Throttle Curve Problem???
I crashed my Sceadu a week ago and got the "DU" back in the air this weekend....had some normal adjustments to make but it actually flies better than before . I took off the stock muffler and replaced it with a Hatori off of a Raptor 50 I haven't finished yet and WOW what a difference . I used some pitch and throttle curve settings I found here on R/R which seem ok for pitch but the motor really wants to rev at 1/2 throttle. I adjusted my hover pitch to full and throttle to zero and it helped but I really need to know how you make the right adjustments. Is a tach the only way to set throttle curves? Or can a rule of thumb be applied if I don't have a tach? Here is my set-up: OS 50 w/Hatori Muffler
MS 600 Carbon Blades Futaba 9CAP TX My current curves are~ Pitch-35,50,59,80,100 ( +11 -3<-----still a novice) Throttle~0.5,31,54,76,92 Thanks~ |
Throttle Curve Problem???
Simple guide lines
1) setup your pitch on the bench for -2 , 4 1/2 , 9 1/2 fill in the rest of the points if any. 2) make sure the thro and servo arm is parallel with each other at 50% stick and in the curve. 3) set your thro curve for 0 5 ,25, 50,75,100 . Go fly...... only adjust you thro curve not the the pitch curve. Don't be afraid to take out a lot of thro you may need to set 40 instead of 50% thro @ half stick. The helicopter should hover at exactly 1/2 stick. |
Throttle Curve Problem???
Thanks Fury flyr, You helped me out too.(agian) ;)
It is good to know about changing throt curve before fussing with pitch. See Ya! Kevin |
In regards to RotoPod Question.....
I too am just starting out and have a RotoPod on my Venture. I had the same problem with it bobbling around at first. I just tightened the bolt about 1.5 turns and it is pretty stable now. It still needs some t/r input when sitting on the ground, but if you throttle up just to the point before it lifts off, then the t/r will stay steady.
The RotoPod is great because you can get the heli light and roll it around to get a feel for the sticks. It is also VERY soft. I had my Venture about eye level (~6ft) when the engine died. (My second flight, the fifth tank of fuel). Anyway, It died and I went to full collective (~10 degrees) and it bounced a couple of times to saftey. Saved me a $50 crash kit and Alot of time. And with my numb thumbs.... it had paid for itself at least 10 times over. To sum it up... Great Product.... Ive had several ppl tell me they think that it is the best stand they have ever seen. |
Throttle Curve Problem???
I have a Sceadu 50 with a Hatori 60, Just picked up a GV-1, The first thing I did with my pitch was set the radio 9chp curves at 0,25,50,75,100%
Then set the mecanical linkage at top end +11 center 0 low end -11. then when that was set I went back into my radio and set the curves for each condition. Normal mode was set for -6, -3, 0, +5, +10 (You can tame this to your liking for hovering practace less neg is a good thing when starting out) Idol 1 same pitch as normal, Idolup 2 is set for -10, -5, 0, +5, +10 Thro hold is set for -11 -5 0 +5 +11. Thro setup is 17% 26% 35% 65% 95% Norm mode Idol 1 65% 50% 35% 65% 95% Idl2 95% 65% 35% 65% 95% My head speed stays steady at all modes and flys like a bat out of hell lots of fun. Sceadu's Rock hope this helps |
