The inevitable!
I was getting kinda brave today with my Caliber 30. I knew it was going to happen sooner or later. I thumped it in pretty good! As I expected when I got the heli, I knew a crash was going to do quite a bit of damage. I wish I had a decent camera so I could take some pics but I need a macro lens for the up close stuff and I can't get one for my camera. Anyway, I got all the usual parts in the crash, blades, boom, main shaft, spindle and a couple links. But as I suspected early on with this heli, I also tore up both frame halves, the motor mounts, landing gear and bent the tail shaft. The final tally at Tower was $140 for parts plus I also lost my CMT carbon blades at $50 a pair. I knew this was going to be a problem with this heli but maybe I'll pay better attention next time and not dork it like I did today. It was a combination of disorientation due to eyesight, not recognizing why the tail wasn't behaving properly and ultimately plain old dumb thumbs.
The worst part is, I had some extra cash last week and bought all the crash parts I'd most likely need for my Fury if I was to dork it! Now I'm having to get into my wifes play money to pay for heli stuff:) I guess it happens to everybody sooner or later,,,basmntdweller |
The inevitable!
Unfortunatly there are two types of heli pilots. Those that have crashed, and those that will. Sorry to hear about you mis-fortune, and hope you get it back up soon.
