Value of 3 helicopters

I have contemplated getting into the R/C game in the past and just never anted up. Today I think I received an offer I can't refuse but I am not sure and have not been able to find values for the helos and plane I found. Please look at the images and let me know what you think the stuff is worth as a total package.
Thanks |

Value of 3 helicopters
The helicopters are all obsolete.
the Kalt Enforcer ZR no parts available The Schluter heli star, maybe a few parts available, that heli hasn't been made for nearly 20 years The Bell 222 UT , looks like it may have a Schluter heli in it, maybe a Junior 50 or a Scout 60, Schluter did a 222 Fuse and I think it was for the Jr 50. the two Jr 622 radios are ok they will get someone started on flying helis and planes but that is about all The JR max 4 is just a 4 channel radio, fine for a trainer plane. The plane looks ok from the pics. Total package I would not give more than $300 to $400 for it |

Any other thoughts?

Only to echo Flunkyone's observations. As a newcomer to helos, you would be buying multiple pigs in a poke with that lot. They look to be in good shape, and therefore might be of interest, nostalgia-wise or as parts mules, to an experienced helo guy. But the first time you dorked one (and you WILL dork it while learning), you would be quite lucky to find parts.
The airplane looks quite interesting. I would love to examine it in person. But pass on the helicopters, and the radios. As stated, they will get you started, but you will realize their limitations about the time you're ready for advanced (beyond hovering) flight. Besides, I can't think of anything more risky than buying used electronics. Lots of folks do it; not me. Steve |

Thanks for the feedback. You 2 have saved me from a big mistake. Any thoughts on a good helicopter to start with? How about a radio with room to grow? When giving suggestions, keep in mind that my philosophy is to spend more up front if it will save me money in the future.
Again, thanks for your time and input! |

Go with a Raptor .30 and a JR 8103 radio. Great combo and very expandable. Pete

Or a Raptor 50 and a Futaba FP-T8UHP. Even more expandable and not too much more. :D
|
OR
OR a Raptor 30/50 and a Futaba9chp. My personal preference would be a Raptor30 than 50 instead , so that you can fly more for the same amount of fuel !

Looks like you've been in my basement LoL.
Well as said some of the heli's look very good, but parts availability is a must. The Kalt I have 2 of them, they are solid very well built helis. The only drawback there is parts (big one) and I'm thinking flapping head which can cause boom strikes for the newbie more easily than other helis. I have a all metal head I gave near $200 dollars for shipped for my Kalt I never used (shame) But parts are few & far in between and when they're gone thats it I'm afraid. The other heli parts is the issue... The JR 622 is a good solid heli radio for the beginner, but as said above if cas is not an issue you can buy a radio that will grow with you as your experience level rise. The plane looks good, check the build quality and structural soundness of it very well. Looks like a good builder, that just might of layed off for a few years. Some of the newer 30 sized heli's offer so much more really for about the same prices as the older kits shown. I love to collect older stuff from old GMP Cricket fixed pitch (rough to learn out & outdated but I collect them) & Kalts. But for using them its a different ball game. |
offer?
so what was the offer you couldn't refuse? how much $

$5.- (because i could sell it for $10 on ebay...) :)

STARTING HELI
I would suggest getting a Jr Venture 30 and a 8103 radio.
The heli comes set up for beginners. It is very smooth and good flying machine. Parts are easy to get and very cheap. It is a ccpm machine which makes very easy to repair after crashing, you will crash every body does while learning. After you have mastered it you can make it a 50 size machine for less than $125 minus motor. |
