Did my piezo gyro go bad before, or after it hit the ground ? Are they very fragile when subjected to a crash, or do they have a history of in-flight failures ?

What Gyro is it ? How's the weather in my home town of Tucson?

It was Hobbicos Piezo Multipurpose gyro. I need one for rudder on a plane, and I know that you heli guys have lots of gyro experience. Since my Hobbico failed, I'm almost afraid to purchase another one.

I need help guys. Thanx - Jim

LOL, I was just thinking 2 heading hold gyros, one on rudder and one on elevator, would make for an easy torque roll!

It now drives any servo that I plug into it hard over. no amount of centering or gain ctrl adjusment will bring it back. It's a Piezo with a Futaba radio. It had been working great. Are they very fragile ?

And Question: Would the Futaba GY-240 be a good choise for just airplane rudder ?
