Will it work properly???
Guys,
Heres a question I have. I currently have a JR 8103 (PCM) heli radio and am building a Century Bell 47G heli. My question is, with using a JR radio can I install a Futaba gyro (thinking about a 601) and still have it work properly? Or is it advisable to stick with JR gyros, which seem to me to be light years behind Futabas. It seems to me that even though the gyro itself would work, I may run into problems with the programming between the radio & the gyro itself. Any help or guidance would be appreciated. Thanks! Pete |
RE: Will it work properly???
Yes it will work great, Heliproz even sells packages with the Futaba gyro. I have some of the 401's on all JR. You will need to take an xacto knife and cut the little raised ridge off of the plugs on the gyro so they will fit into the JR receiver because JR doesn't have the slot for them. Heliproz said you get a better gyro for the money spent with Futaba.

RE: Will it work properly???
I agree. I have a GY401/9254 combo in my R50 V2 using an 8103 and it works just fine. As was said you simply cut off the ridge/tab that sticks out on the Futaba plug. No other probs for me at all and it's a great setup.

Ok, thanks a bunch guys. I would just hate to spend the money and find out it would not work!

RE: Will it work properly???
hey if it were me i wouldn't go as far as a 601 for a scale project, a 401 is more than adequate, save yourself some money.
