RE: Please help

The problem with helis is that price and ease of learning are inversly proportional... small fixed pitch (FP) electrics are only $200-$300 RTF, but they are a ***** to fly! I can hover and do foward flight all day with my .30 & .50 sized, collective pitch (CP) nitro choppers, but I can barely keep a little FP chopper in a hover! When you start getting into small CP electric helis, you'll start approaching the price of a large nitro heli, and they will be less stable due to their size and weight, especially with some wind. The easiest heli to learn on would be a .30 to .50 sized CP nitro heli, and if you don't have a heli-capable transmitter right now, it will cost you $1000+ to be RTF with a nitro chopper...

The easiest micro electric choppers to learn to fly will have collective pitch for the main and tail rotor blades (Zoom/Shogun 400, T-Rex, etc.) , and a "heading hold" (HH) gyro. To get decent power and runtimes you really need to go with a brushless motor and LiPos, which starts upping the $$$$. Eflite just came out with a CP micro electric heli for about $220 RTF, but it has a FP tail and I don't believe it has an HH gyro... haven't heard how they fly, but that sounds like it may be one of the easiest flying micro electrics for the price. It also has a brushed motor and NiMH batts, so power and runtime will likely be minimal...
