Beginner going with the Corona
 

Hi guys,

First post here :D

I am going to dive into the world of helis in the very near future, and am looking at the Corona, and have decided to go with this model
over another one called the "Blade CP RTF Electric Micro Heli" - I was advised strongly against buying the "Blade"
and to spend more money and go with the Corona.

My question is this, I'm totally new to helis, and somebody told me that there are many options for this heli.

I want a good main motor ( I think there are 2 motors on this heli ? - one at the back for the small prop also ? )

I thought that there would be a kit I could buy, that included everything, so that I could just charge the batteries and get flying but this doesn't seem to be the case.

Is there anyone out there with experience with the Corona who could spend some time with me getting the right Corona ( option wise ) ?

I would really appreciate that.

I would stay with the stock stuff till you wreak it a few times. A guy in our club has a brushless Corona, it is about the most durable helicopter I have EVER seen! He will smash the "crud" out of it, unfold the blades and straighten the boom. He is back flying!

Wonder why? I know two people that have them and they speak very highly of them, they say that they should have lithium batteries in them, but other then that, they are a great little heli.

Hi Charlie,

I don't recall exactly what the person said, but told me if I want to just throw money down the drain buy the blade, I don't know why he said that, but it seems the
Corona is much better built. I am on a number of forums, and got the same response ( good ) about the Corona so figure I should save my money for the Corona.

Btw, I just checked out your gallery, and I see you with your RAPTOR heli.

Holy cow ! - I didn't realize that the Raptor was so LARGE !.... what a beautiful machine ! :D

I wonder how large the Corona is compared to your Raptor.

Thanks for posting this - this makes me feel very good [8D]

I really want the Corona. I hope somebody can help me out choosing stuff.

Btw, if you buy a Corona without the moror and those servos, - do they have pre-drilled places in the fuselage of the heli so you know where to put them ? and
it kind of goes together without too much thinking on the builder's part ? .... I'm totally new to modelling.....

Since you are totally new to modeling, for your own sanity's sake go to the LMH site and just buy the complete Corrona package. You'll be miles ahead by having all that you need then just...












wait for it....












Read and follow the instruction booklets and you WILL have a GREAT flying training helicopter.

It stands for [link=http://www.litemachines.com/]LiteMachines Helicopters[/link], which makes Corona's.

They are "about" a 1/4 size of a Raptor 30 (maybe a little more). That Raptor in the picture is a 90. This picture will give you a rough idea how big it is compared to a 30, this one is a LMH 110 nitro, but they are pretty much the same thing.

So the huge heli on the right is a Raptor, how about the one in the back left ? ... and the one in the front is about the size
of a Corona ?... so I think I got that part right :)

That Raptor is a beauty. Got any video of that thing ? - oh man I'm drooling. That Raptor must be worth $2,000. I will assume it's gas powered.

The one in the back left is a Ergo 46.

Not quite, but your not far off, yeah it is a nitro heli.

Maybe, except don't even think about using the Electrofusion motor that LMH supplies. It's a total piece of crap. Get an Atomic Force or go brushless.

I had a Corona and an LMH 117 glow powered. Both were good little heli's. A little limited in what you can do with them later on unless you convert them to collective pitch. But they are tough!
