second heli
I am currently flying a Nexus 30, while I am comfortable flying the Nexus around I know that it is limited on what it can do. I am not ready for 3D yet and I know this but I would like to get a second chopper that I can build up to that. My question is this, should I go for a 50 or a 60, the price diference is fairly substancial but I do not want to end up with an over powered 30 size helicopter. All my Heli pilot aquaintances say a 60 is the way to go.
Also if I go for a 60 what are your thoughts ont he Raptor. I have seen quite a few problems listed on this forum and I do not want to end up with a high maintenance heli (I already have that with the Nexus) John |

I would go with the Raptor 30. It's got lots of power for a 30. I started running 30% nitro, and an Excellence tuned muffler on mine, and it turned it into a crazy little heli. The muffler alone was a 25-30% power gain. Plus, the Raptor can be upgraded untill your heart's content. It will do 3D stock. The only thing you have to modify is that you have to epoxy the blade grips on.

Or if you really want crazy performance you can go for a Raptor 50. Put a tuned muffler on that and 30% fuel and you'll be able to do any manuver in the book, and then some.

Definetly dont go with another 30 size, if you want a 60 go with a 60. After flying my Jr Venture for 1 month, I went with a 60 size Freya with YS80 with no problems, you can grow with it with no problems. Theres nothing like a 60 size Heli, if you dont want to spend the bucks with the 60, then go with the 50 size, you'll love the power to weight ratio, and you can grow well with that too. Daz...
