There's very little info on the XL30- anyone flying one- have they changed from the angled frames I remember of about 6 years ago?

I've done some searching but am having problems finding anything on them- it seems MA isn't pushing this model at all- or the 46 for that matter.........anyone have any URL's handy?

The current 30 kit is a stacked frame design; the bent frames are long gone. Over the years, some extra ball bearings and one piece balls from the big models have been added to the kit.

It's still a solid value in a model that will run and run and run and run.....................

Thanks Ben,

I owned the old bent frame years back- it was light and a solid machine....I'm wondering how heavy the stacked version is and how well it 3D's in comparison to the current 30's.

The weight increase with the stacked frames is insignificant at worst. About the only thing to account for the increase in weight is the little ali spacers and blocks and a few extra bolts. That'll never kill the model's performance. With the proper paddles and a healthy motor like the new TT 39, the model will 3D as well as anything out there, and you'll never have to be concerned with overstressing the airframe. Spin the head at 1900 or so and let'r rip. It's damn near impossible to wear this model out.
