RE: blade cx mods
Thanks for the info.
My wife just bought me one to fly indoors and it flies real nice. I found that the throttle was edgy in that one click was too much and one click the other way was too little. I will do your suggested mod to my transmitter and hopefully enjoy it even more. Thanks. |
RE: blade cx mods
I need parts for mine and can't find anyone that has them in stock. Looking for the inner main shaft part# eflh1212 broke the top off mine that holds the flybar on and now I'm grounded. I havn't been grounded sence I was 12. This just sucks bigtime. Waiting for the parts to come avalible see that the Cx is so new. But I love this lil Chopper. Its great and a blast to fly. Looking forward to making the jump to the next level with a Blade CP.

Mine broke at the top also. I read that this is common. As I had seen suggested, I glued it back with CA, wrapped it with thread (black) & added more CA. Flying again in no time!

RE: blade cx mods
I tried that but it must have bent the shaft cause its out of balance bad. It wont stay glued. I think my flybar is bent also due to a previous confrintation with the coffie table. I was trying spot landings on the coffie table and drifted to close while trying to land on it. Just lost to much altitude to quickly. I really was getting the hang of it too. Almost want to go and get another one just to have a backup. I really want to try the CP but I think I need more time with the CX to perfect my avating skills before making the move up to the CP. The sad thing about this whole thing is its not broken due to a crash. I droped it getting out of my truck and it landed upsidedown and thats when it broke. Oh well off to the hobby shop. I'll let you know later what I come back with.

RE: blade cx mods
Taking the weights off the stabilizer bar didnt mess things up?

Getting rid of the ratchet is a wonderful mod, but completely removing the tab is not the way to do it. The stick is all too loose with that method and simple tail controls will cause unwanted collective input. The best way IMO is to put some fuel tubing or heat shrink over the tab and screw the tab in to your specfication of resistance on the stick. I did this with my CP's controller with fuel tubing and love it.

RE: blade cx mods
I have noticed on some sites that they are going to be making an *aluminum head* with the inner shaft for the blade cx, but they all state that it won't be available until March 2006. I think the part # is EFLH1240 instead of EFLH1212. I'm hoping they'll make more parts in aluminum and possibly go to foam for the blades as they get nicked very easily. My friend has a Hirobi and his blades literally look like they are made from egg carton foam and are cheaper (and readily available).

RE: blade cx mods
I dont know how desperate you are for parts, and I dont know if they ship, but "the model box" in homewood, ala has all the parts you need for your cx. I snapped the flybar off my shaft the first day,(only $8 to replace)Im an uber newbie to the rc world, so my apologies if its taboo to mention names of stores. On the subject of mods, I saw a tank that shot air-soft pellets,is there a relatively safe mod out there that could do this?Iwondered about wieght issues.possibly an ignition sysytem to launch bottle rockets off the skids?I know Im not the first to think of a shooting heli.,and im too new to design a mod of this type.any thoughts appreciated. hope your flying soon

RE: blade cx mods
I've read else where that if the 4in1 gets too hot, it will cause handling issues. I cut out the entire smoked canopy, cut open a hole under the 4in1, and drilled holes in the 4in1 case. Also, poeple have had issues with the 4in1 failing due to crashes. It seems that if you hit something with a rotor blade under power, it will blow the esc. When I think I'm going to hit something, I cut the power completly. The CX will drop like a rock. But it's better to replace skids than a 4in1.

RE: blade cx mods
Here is a fun little mod thats reversable, so if you dont like it you can go back.
http://www.stingerrc.com/heli_articl...lade_CX_Titan/ I must sat though, using broken blades to make grips, has saved me from breaking many blades. I know the blades are cheap, but its a pain, to go get new ones and replace, after a crash. With these, I just fold them back out, and continue flying |
