Absolute Junk
I took a chance and purchased a Dragonfly 35, and let me tell you, what a waste of money. First of all, no adjusting or tweaking ever got it into the air, just light on the skids. Second, none of the electronics seem to work as advertised, I don't even know where to begin listing the problems I've had. Third, the English instructions aren’t even worth the paper they're printed on. I think I would've been better off with the Chinese instructions and translating them myself.
If anyone knows what can be done with this turd, I welcome any advice. |

RE: Absolute Junk
None of the electrics that have a second motor for the tail rotor fly worth a hoot. All of the rest fly but cost as much as a decent .30 size fuel helo, so get a .30 ....

You get what you pay for. Say that over and over before you buy your next one.

RE: Absolute Junk
I think I've traced the electrical problems down to the receiver. When I plug the Heli's battery in and turn the transmitter on, the gyro doesn't initialize, the roll servo tries to go past full right, and the motor sometime starts by itself for not reason. Could this all be caused by a bad receiver?

RE: Absolute Junk
I'd like to add that when the motor starts by itself, it goes to full trottle.

RE: Absolute Junk
LOL....yep, I agree with barracudahockey. shelve it, buy a raptor, caliber or a venture and learn to fly on a nitro machine. Then next summer go back and tinker with the Dragonfly if by then you still think its worth playing with. You might not like or agree with this idea but its probably the best way to go.

RE: Absolute Junk
All of the controls were responding and operating as advertised until it had a run-in with a chair. Both the TX and RX say 72 MHZ. Before the chair incident, the skids were actually off the ground, so I think it wants to fly.

RE: Absolute Junk
Hate to read things like this. We keep saying don't buy the cheap junk helis and people keep doing it. Not fun. Hope you will get a good one and an instructor and learn. its a fun hobby when done right.

RE: Absolute Junk
I found the problem with the funky servo. I disassembled it and found a broken wire. The wire is for the limit switch and with it broken, the servo wants act like a motor and just spin. The throttle was just some dumb a__ (i.e. me) bumping the throttle lever. Does anyone know where I can buy just one servo? Everywhere I've looked online sells only sets of four. I'm going to patch it together and try not to crash it again.
