Data backup lithium battery replacement

Just looking ahead. Has anyone replaced the lithium data backup battery in JR Txs? What's involved?
Did a search and got thousands of hits[sm=drowning.gif]

Can't believe no one has ever had to change the battery!

send it off to JR.

they are pretty good, and that way you dont void any warranty or anything on it.

I replaced one a while ago. The battery costs like 2$ at radio shack. The problem is that it has two tabs stamped on the battery case to put it on the curcuit.

What I did was de-sotter the old lithium battery . I sottered two wires to the battery and sealed it with electrical tape. I sottered the wires to the board and put the battery in a good place. Sure it doesn't look professional on the inside, but it worked for me.

I sent that transmitter into JR and told me that they replaced the lithium battery, but they replaced it with a bad one. That person messed my transmitter up somewhat. Every other time I sent stuff in they did a really good job.

if its like my pcm 9x, then once you take the back off you will see it..

to be honest mate i would send it back to macgreggor when it goes.. much less hassle, and that way its done properly... your not gonna fry something, and have a radio loss in mid air
