9251 servo

I am looking to put a better servo on the tail of my .91 Freya, I am using a CSM400, will a Futaba 9251 work okay? The tower site says this servo can not be used in any application other than with the GY601.

I don't think it will. There's some issue about the frame rate of the servo meaning it can only be used with the GY601, I'm not sure though, maybe someone else can explain this better to you.

No.

The 9251 is a ultra high frequency servo designed to work with the 601 gyro.

You could use the 9253 digital servo or the analog 9205 from the Futaba line, or the 8700G(PCM only) digital or analog 4735 from the JR line. I've heard too many nightmare stories about the 8417 servo in a tail rotor application. Some have had good luck; others have a pile of parts.

9251 servo

The 9251 will only work with the 601. I have tried a 9251 with other gyros and it will not work. It uses a very narrow pulse width and the 601 is the only device currently with this capabililty.
Hopefully this will change.

RE: 9251 servo

I put a 9251 in an 1/8 scale mugen and had incredible results. Never had a steering servo perform better.
