Head Button on a Hawk Pro
I'm taking some machining courses and we have get to pick a simple project we need to program onto a CNC lathe. I thought i might as well make something useful, like a head button. I've seen some pictures of the button i plan to make, for a Hawk Pro, but i would need dimensions or more detail of the threads. The actual head shape or dimensions don't matter much, i can be creative...
I understand the threads are counter clockwise, so that when you use it to stop the head it tightens. Its a plastis head block and there are no threads on it... I just figured maybe Century did some tests and found the idea threads to use. Anyone got one to measure, or know otherwise the size i'm looking for? |
RE: Head Button on a Hawk Pro
I dont have one on me to measure. But the ones that i have seen from centrury dont have any threads. You just tap them in with the hammer.
What program are you using for the lathe? |
RE: Head Button on a Hawk Pro
Its a Haas SL-10 CNC lathe with fanuc controls. I can either program it with EdgeCam or write the program manually... I may have to do it manually so i can tell it i need to run a couple of tools upside down and spin it backwards.
Are you sure these are not threads? http://www.heli-world.com/images/pro...MJGNPGDICH.jpg http://www.heli-world.com/images/pro...LKGNPGDICH.jpg |
