pre-programable flights?

In an indoor environment, is it possible to make a program that somehow
interacts with a helicopter's controller so that if you place the helicopter
in the same spot and position, you can get it to go to another specific spot
in the building and land there just by pushing a button?

Yes

Yes, but it will be difficult to write, each flight is different.

It's possible, but the technology behind it is not cheap. Most helicopters that are positionally aware use GPS to do it.

All self-piloted models i've ever seen have all been ruinously expensive and usually used for industrial/military application.

Someone was trying to do that for a Uni thing... They were gonna spend $$$. Not cheap.

I was hoping you could program it into a flight simulator, and it could run the
controller or something like that, providing a possible practical use for them.
Oh well...maybe some day...

I think they do have one. Saving $$$ when you are first learning things.

very interesting question. i'm new to r/c helicopter and am already thinking about the pre-programmed aspect. right now, I don't know how it is to be done, but I think pre-programmed flights would involve a OEM connector at the antennae/transmitter with a black-box of some sort. I'll get back to you guys when I figure it out.

If you think of it and don't mind, please send me an email if you make the post
or want to let me know how you work it out, if you do. My email address is:

Thanks!
