Help With OS .37

Here is the situation. I sarted the engine for the first time yesterday and it started up just fine. This morning i realized that the muffler was improperly secured to the engine (only one bolt was holding it on) and then fixed it. When i went to start it today it would just not start, no matter what i seemed to do. Everytime i applied the starter the exhaust pipe would basically fill up with unburned fuel. Do you think LS is out of wake or what? Anyway, i decided to remove the line from the header tank and put the line from the main tank on it. Engine fired right up but when i dropped it back down to idle the engine quit. I got it to fire 2-3 more times and for what ever reason it started to flood again and the muffler filled with. What the heck is going on. Could the low speed be set that frequen rich from the factory?

Any help would be apreciated.

Thanks
Cameron

RE: Help With OS .37

I very well might have figured it out. For one the on board glow extension is just not cutting it. It is not heating the glow plug like it should so i decided to bail on that. Aslo the LS needle valve was fittled with while trying to get the engine running. It ended up beeing about 1 turn out from the stock setting, and we all know those stock settings are on the rich side of things. I think my LS was excessivley rich, not allowing the engine to start. I will see tommorow when i maiden it.

Cambo...What pipe are you running? I'm running the Hatori SAB-6RS pipe. I was running the Mavrikk at first. I had to lean the low/mixture needle as well to get it to idle. I also had to lean the high speed needle a little as well.

I flooded my engine with the super rich settings from the factory. It was not fun, I had to take the engine completely out to ensure I didn't bend the crankshaft of the piston rod. I'm glad I did since it gave me chance to get the metal/aluminum particles out the engine from the break-in process.

BTW: The OS .37 is totally different engine with the Hatori vs the Mavrikk. I had to tone my throttle curve down. That little engine has lot's of power with the right pipe.

Right now it is the stock pipe that comes with the hawk pro. While i am still getting used to this bird i am going to keep the stock pipe on it. I got the engine running at the field today. Ran flawlessly after the LS was dialed in.

Thanks for the help
