Simulator for Macintosh
 

Hi,
I am new to RC Helicopters.
I am about to get a Draganflyer 3 and would like to know is there a recommended "Simulator" and will it work on a Macintosh computer?

Any and all guidance and advise would be welcome.

I'm not aware of any simulator for a Draganflyer at all it's not a 'normal' aircraft by any stretch of the imagination. They're toys compared to even low end .30 sized Helli's. If you're seriously thinking about the hobby I'd suggest holding off your purchase and doing some more research. You're gonna get bored REAL fast with a Draganflyer. Even with the camera it's a novelty, you can't do any real acrobatics with it. Considering the cost you'll want to put more than a few days thought into it. A real Helli might be harder to learn and fly, but it'll be more fun than the 2 days it takes you to find out you can't do anything 'cool' with a DragonFlyer

forget the dragon flyer. it costs as much as a 30 size helicopter.

I don't know of any Draganflyer simulations, but It's very similar to a fixed pitch helicopter, just a bit more stable due to the 3 gyros. I really like mine and I fly it inside my house during the winter. It hardy requires any service except for an occasional motor alignment and tightening of bolts. I bought mine from the Draganfly E-Bay store and got it at a lower price. My only serious complaint is short flight times, however that should be resolved when the lithium packs are available. No, it's not a substitute for a 3D helicopter, but it is cool and doesn't require the high commitment level required of a more traditional machine. My other models are all fixed wing so I like it as a fun diversion.

Sadly- the r/c simulator companies feel the Mac platform represents too small of a market to port Mac versions.......

I can only imagine how nice a Mac OS X native version of a simulator would be....

well at least we have Final Cut Pro!

The R/C market for simulator software is barely big enough to justify a product. And mac users are to be nice extremely rare in the first place =) Doesn't matter if in what way it's superior if no one uses it =>
